This is the second year now that I’ve done an illustration for #Mermay.  I always feel motivated to revamp a sea monster character I created in high school when I see everyone’s mermaids.

The acrylic painting I did back in 2007 was part of a diptych, inspired by William Blake’s Behemoth and Leviathan engraving.  This is the first time since then that I’ve updated Leviathan’s counterpart.
